Monitoring
Parameters that are typically measured in the influent, effluent and biological tanks only by grab samples can be monitored and predicted continuously with high precision using the AIS digital tool. This will improve decision-making, as process disturbances will be detected more quickly.
Diagnosis
Wastewater treatment plants often take excessive corrective measures to mitigate process disturbances that can impact the performance of the biological process in the long-term. The AIS digital tool identifies cause-root effect of common disturbances and anticipates biological process disturbances by predicting variations in microbial performance.
Estimation
Operating costs with energy, chemicals and waste are estimated with the AIS digital tool. Waste valorisation indicators are also predicted to help wastewater treatment plants to decide on the potential for recovery of new bio-based products with their residues.
Digital Tools & Services
The AquaInSilico (AIS) digital tool allows plants to monitor microbial performance and key performance indicators, detecting possible problems, often before they can be diagnosed by humans.
This will allow companies to tune and adapt their treatment systems more effectively and is expected to save them up to 25% of their operating costs. In addition, it also supports clients to recover from waste new bio-based products, such as nutrients, biogas, bulk chemicals and bioplastics.

OUR TEAM
AquaInSilico Lda, a spin-off company from NOVA University Lisbon, was incorporated by a team from FCT NOVA, specialist in bioengineering, and by Frontier IP Group, specialist on IP commercialisation.
The company joins a multidisciplinary team with more than 30 years of experience in environmental / industrial bioengineering and mathematical modelling.
The team is dedicated to creating value for society, promoting a more sustainable and circular economy in the wastewater and waste management sectors.
